INTERVENTION. Central Station Antwerp.

Antwerp Central Station, known as one of the most beautiful train stations in the world, also hosted it’s a trap. This intervention in public space reconsidered once more the possibilities of the installation , this time as street art. For a short period of a day thousands balls were spread through one of the corridors that guides passengers from the main entrance to the back exit of the station. The unexpected encounter of these coloured balls changed the dynamics of the passengers: from a pure automated transit ( probably commuted on a daily basis) to a playground area. Adults and children alike enjoyed the atmosphere and changed their “absent presence” into active social participation. The train station as location was rediscovered as public space.
